Hudson Valley Supermarket Chain Recalls Products for Salmonella

A popular Hudson Valley supermarket is recalling a list of products because of potential Salmonella contamination.

Stop & Shop stores have announced an immediate recall of trail mix products made by Aurora Foods. The include Stop and Shop branded items, as well as those under the Aurora label. According to WCVB.com, the products include:

• Stop and Shop Walnuts, 6.5 oz., UPC 8826713594, with best if used by dates of Oct. 29, 2015 to Dec. 7, 2015
• Stop and Shop Cranberry Health Mix, 21 oz., UPC 8826713692, with best if used by dates of Oct. 30, 2015 to Dec. 13, 2015
• Stop and Shop Cranberry Health Mix, 9.25 oz., UPC 8826714713, with best if used by dates of Oct. 30, 2015 to Dec. 13, 2015
• Stop & Shop Roasted Salt Mixed Nuts, 9 oz., UPC 8826714736, with best if used by dates of Nov. 4, 2015 to Dec. 13, 2015
• Aurora Forest Bounty Grail Mix, 17.5 oz., UPC 65585200496, with best if used by dates of Oct. 28, 2015 to Dec. 13, 2015

Symptoms of salmonella poisoning include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, fever, chills, headache, nausea and vomiting. If you have eaten any of the above items and are experiencing these symptoms seek medical assistance, as salmonella poisoning can be life threatening.

Stop & Shop operates supermarkets throughout the Hudson Valley in Wappingers Falls, Newburgh, Washingtonville, Monroe, Peekskill, New Paltz, Hopewell, Hyde Park and two locations in Poughkeepsie.
