A New Paltz woman in need of a kidney took to the Internet to ask for a donor, and now she's got one.

PIX 11 recently did a story on Jacqueline Triguero, a teacher from New Paltz who was told her kidneys were failing due to polycystic disease. The illness caused cysts to develop on her kidneys, rendering them basically useless. After being diagnosed two years ago, Triguero began dialysis several times a week. To spend more time with her family, the New Paltz woman made the decision to switch to home dialysis, which she needed to do for eight and a half hours every evening.

Desperate to find a new kidney, Triguero took to the Internet and created a blog called Kidney4Jackie. After 250,000 views someone who was tested came up as a match. The anonymous donor went into surgery just before Thanksgiving to have her kidney removed.

After complications with Triguero's transplant and the donor's surgery, both women were finally healthy enough to enjoy a very special Christmas.
