A woman who sold prescription drugs during a school dance at a Hudson Valley elementary school was sentenced to six years in a state prison.

On October 30, 2014, 33-year-old. Lisa Mitchell sold oxycodone to another person inside a bathroom at the Benjamin Cosor Elementary School. She was caught by a parent at the Halloween party who noticed odd behavior going on inside the Fallsburg school bathroom. The parent reported it to school officials who called the police.

Mitchell, a Woodridge resident, was arrested on November 2nd, 2014. She pleaded guilty to one count of felony criminal sale of a controlled substance in or near school grounds. She was sentenced to six years in prision.

According to the Times Herald Record, Fallsburg police worked with the elementary school to obtain evidence the that led to a guilty plea.

Sullivan County District Attorney James Farrell says the sentencing will make others think twice before selling drugs on school grounds.
