Hurricane Joaquin's path is veering east and the Hudson Valley likely won't see much of an impact, according to the National Weather Service's forecast as of Friday afternoon.

The most we'll see is rain over the weekend. On Saturday, the National Weather Service predicts a 60 percent chance of rain, mainly before 10AM. Rain is possible Saturday night and Sunday, with a 20 percent chance of rain predicted.

Joaquin is expected to remain at hurricane strength as it blows past the Northeast, but its path is farther into the Atlantic Ocean than some models originally predicted. The National Weather Service anticipates Joaquin winding down to a tropical storm by Wednesday morning. Hurricane intensity storms have wind speeds above 74 MPH. Tropical storms have wind speeds between 39 MPH and 73 MPH.

Did you stock up in anticipation of Hurricane Joaquin? Do you think there was too much hype surrounding the storm before its path was more certain?
