Hudson Valley Barber Charges Customers For More Than Just Haircuts
A Hudson Valley barber has been arrested for "scalping" his clients.
A New York barber is accused of loansharking. Prosecutors say Anthony "Harpo" DePalma was giving high interest loans to his customers, sometimes charges then an interest rate of 200-percent. Officials investigated accusation for more than a year and arrested him earlier this week. He's with Mr. Tony's Barber Shop in Hudson Valley but authorities say they took records from the place that show it was a front for loansharking, gambling and organized crime.
