We have all been there at some point, whether is is trying to find the a job, a second job to help make ends meet or to find a new job that perhaps pays you a bit more and appreciates what you bring to the table (also known as the holy grail of jobs).

Maybe you have just been downsized, you had a job yesterday, but do not have one today, where do you begin?

Begin at the beginning. Most people do not have a resume that is up to date. Spend some time getting places of employment together and approximate dates that you worked there. Then remember that short but complete is best, describe what you did, keeping in mind what you want to have a future employer know about your job skills. A resume is important, even if an employer wants you to fill out an application, most will also want a resume. If you are stuck on what to write, Resumehelp.com has templates, both for resumes and cover letters.

Did you get the interview, but aren't sure what questions to ask and which to avoid? Here is a link to a well written piece on the three questions not to ask along with five you should.

The best thing to keep in mind, stay positive (yes, please do not throw things) most often this is not a quick process, as unfortunately there are many more applicants than there are jobs in the work place. Consider applying for something you are qualified for but have never tried. Do you listen well and have patience? Maybe a working in a call center answering customers questions could be a good fit for you?
