The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie first opened in 1847. Life has certainly changed since then, and over the past 168 years The Children's Home of  Poughkeepsie has continually developed  programs and services to give hope and healing to abused and neglected children in the Hudson River Region.  They're continually looking forward and making plans so that there will always be a safe place for these children to go to.

This week it was great to have Walter Joseph, Executive Director of the Children's Home of Poughkeepsie and Erin Cafarelli, Development Associate on the show to talk about some of their new programs, expansion of others, and one of their most popular fundraisers 'Run for Home', a 5K on August 30 at the Dutchess County Rail Trail.

'In Touch' runs every Sunday morning at 5:30, but in case you may still be sleeping, here's this week's show with Walter and Erin.
