Update, 4/15: The inmate killed at Sullivan Correctional Facility on Monday has been identified as 52-year-old Karl Taylor, according to the Times Herald-Record. Taylor was serving a 27 1/2- to 55-year sentence on rape and sexual abuse charges.

An inmate at the Sullivan Correctional Facility died Monday during an incident that also left three corrections officers injured, according to Linda Foglia at the New York State Department of Correctional Services. 

Michael Mazella, a spokesman for the New York State Corrections Officers Benevolent Association, said the corrections officers were taken to Crystal Run Health Care in Rock Hill for treatment. Two of the three officers were transferred to Catskill Regional Medical Hospital with serious injuries.

The Daily Freeman reports that State Police are investigating the matter. Details on how the unnamed inmate's death occurred have not been released as of yet.
