Apple recently announced that they would be dis-continuing the iPod classic. The famous click wheel is no more.

According to the folks over at Engadget, Apple CEO Tim Cook explained that the move was made for 2 simple reasons. First, they couldn't get the parts they need, as they don't make them anymore. And second, demand for the product has dropped off in recent years as demand for all-in-one smartphones has skyrocketed.

So, if you're a fan of the classic iPod, you'll have to head over to eBay to get one. Or you could just join the iPhone cult.

Here's an early promotional video for the original iPod Classic. It looks so primitive now, doesn't it?
