Izzie has been found!

If you missed the story last week about Izzie, who was reportedly taken during a break in that occurred at the Humane Society of Middletown’s Shelter on Bloominburg Rd. sometime between 5 p.m. June 7 and 8 a.m. June 8 we have a happy ending.

According to the Daily Freeman, Police Chief Robert Hertman said that police officers responded to The Horizons at Wawayanda apartment complex on Route 6 in Middletown in response to a report that the dog was seen roaming in that area.

After investigating, Police found that a resident saw Izzie wandering the street and decided to hold the dog until the proper authorities were contacted.

Izzie was turned over to the Humane Society late yesterday and Humane Society President Marlene Freehill told the Freeman that, “She looks a little thinner, but other than that, she looks okay.”

Police have said that the investigation into the burglary earlier in the month is continuing.

No word if the resident who found Izzie is going to collect the $1,500 reward or not.
