Well before Jack White became a superstar rocker with the White Stripes, he worked as an upholsterer in Detroit. You may know the rocker had a few projects before is super successful solo career and of course his launch into stardom with the White Stripes but what you may not know is there is super secret music hidden away! Back in the 2000's White and his mentor Brian Muldoon formed a band appropriately called the Upholsterers. The duo recorded two singles one of which was released...the other was pressed onto 100 vinyl copies and eventually hid in the furniture Muldoon reupholstering in 2004.  The track titled "Your Furniture Was Always Dead...I Was Just Afraid to Tell You" apparently remained hidden all that time…well until now.  Third Man Records says two people have come forward claiming to have found two separate copies of the record....

“Recently Third Man Records has been made aware of the discovery of two different copies found by two separate individuals of the 2nd single by the Upholsterers. This duo, comprising of actual upholsterers Jack White and Brian Muldoon, pressed 100 copies of this single and proceeded to hide them in furniture being reupholstered by Muldoon in 2004, in celebration of his 25th year in the business. In celebration of these discoveries, Third Man would like to share with everyone the cover art for this single, done by noted Detroit artist Gordon Newton.”
