A billion dollar Japanese entertainment company is opening a 45,000-square-foot fun center right here in the Hudson Valley.

Round One Entertainment has leased the enormous space at the Galleria at Crystal Run in Middletown. The company plans on building an entertainment center that includes bowling, billiards, ping pong, darts and karaoke. The center will also include food and drink.

Round One currently has 14 locations across the US in California, Illinois, Massachusetts, Texas and Washington, with three additional centers opening soon in Colorado, Georgia and Pennsylvania. Retail Real Estate agency, RFK, arranged the leasing deal with the Galleria at Crystal Run.

RFK's Executive Vice President, David Friedman, explained in a press release that shoppers at the Galleria at Crystal Run are in for something beyond the average mall arcade. He says "Round One offers an entertainment experience for the whole family that rivals many regional amusement parks."

According to Round One's website, the entertainment center offers a membership program that gives frequent visitors discounts on bowling, games and other activities. The company also has packages available for birthday parties.

This cringe-worthy news report documented the opening of Round One's store in Lakewood California back in 2013. It'll give you a pretty good idea of what to expect when the Hudson Valley location opens up in 2017.
