To say it was a shock that Jon Stewart was stepping down from his role on 'The Daily Show' is certainly an understatement. But in January after 16 years Stewart announced that he would be leaving the Comedy Central show and heading into retirement. Now only a few short weeks after Stewarts replacement was announced the host has given the date for his last show. The announcement came on Monday night as Stewart wrapped things up on the broadcast letting millions of viewers and fans know that August 6th will be his last show...

“I will be wearing a suit. I will more than likely be showered.” Stewart reacting to the audiences response continued with  “I’m sorry, I will be wearing overalls and I won’t shower. So I hope that you will join us for that program.”

Stewarts will be replaced by Trevor Noah, a little known South African comedian who only joined 'The Daily Show' staff in December 2015. You can read more about Stewart's history with the show and why he chose to step-down in this in-depth interview with The Guardian. Jon you will be missed!
