WRRV Spirit Society members and absinthe fans (and it's ok to be both or just one of those), there is going to be an absinthe tasting this weekend in Gardiner. If you are a spirit geek like myself or just want to learn more about a spirt/liqueur that has so much curiosity or myth behind it, here is your chance.

Gardiner Liquid Mercantile is a place that craft cocktail enthusiasts should get to know. This is a mission of love of Gable Erenzo, formerly the mad genius extraordinaire at Tuthilltown Spirits.

According to the company's website, Gable opened Gardiner Liquid Mercantile to be able to craft local "estate" spirits and to be able to present to GLM customers products that focus on items (food, wine, beers, spirits) that were made within just a few mile radius of the store. The space is small, quaint and full of a mission of love. Small plates, chalkboard specials, and enthusiastic staff is the norm here.

This Saturday October 1, 3-6PM, Gable is welcoming Cherl Lins of Delaware Phoenix, who will be sharing two very distinct (and distinctly New York) absinthes, the Walton Waters and Meadow of Love. You will be able to try them on their own and in craft custom cocktails. What is absinthe? Here is more information, better than I could ever explain.
