A chef from a Hudson Valley College has been nationally recognized for one of innovative culinary creations.

According to The Poughkeepsie Journal Marist College Campus Executive Chef Anthony R. Legname has won a national award from FoodService Director Magazine for his wonderfully inventive Falafel Waffle. The creative concoction won the Chef's Choice Award at recent ceremony in Florida, raking in more than 50% of the votes.

Via email to the Poughkeepsie Journal Legname say's that he likes to create menus with particular themes and “uses this as a teaching tool, keeping local, sustainable and/or organic foods in mind. All food is made from scratch and authentic.”

You can try Legnames award winning food themes for your self at the Valley Cafe on the Marist College main campus every Tuesday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. And don't worry these culinary treats are available to more than the college population. The cafe is also open to the public on a first come, first serve basis.
