Local Man Shot After Stabbing Three People, Police Say

It was an ugly scene in the Hudson Valley this weekend after violence erupted in Plattekill.

According to New York State Police, Rodshan Pittman, 25, was shot and killed at a residence on Crescent Avenue in Plattekill after stabbing several people.

He allegedly stabbed three people in the home. Family members of the attacked responded with gunfire, killing Pittman. The victims of the stabbing were taken to Mid Hudson Regional Hospital for injuries that do not appear to be life threatening, according to reports.

It is not known if Pittman knew any of the victims prior to the attack.

At the time, state police say, no charges are being filed. The investigation will remain open pending possible grand jury action.
