It was a quiet little place, tucked just slightly away from the hustle and bustle of Route 9. A positive aspect for many patrons but sadly some say that location may have played a role in the recent closing of Grand Centro Grill in Fishkill.

According to employees after only being open a few short years the restaurant closed it's doors for good at the end of last month. Arianna Britton a server and bartender at the establishment has worked for the owner, Angelo Dellicarpini for several years and says lack of leadership was not to blame,

"It's really hard with all the competition around and being in a plaza that's not easily seen didn't help, a lot of costumers even told me they didn't know we existed for awhile." "It wasn't lack of leadership or bad ownership because our owners have been running successful businesses for over 20 years now, and I couldn't ask for better men to work for. Sometimes it just doesn't work. "

Sadly, in the case of Grand Centro it didn't work but thankfully as Birtton mentioned the owners do have other successful restaurants so job loss was kept to a minimum as most of the remaining staff was able to be relocated to other restaurants.

Even still with some job loss being avoided the closure is just one more hit to our community. And I'm not just talking about the economy, I'm talking about the people. Britton says the closing has been hard for those who grew to love Grand Centro,

"We created personal relationships with a lot of our customers making it that much  harder to leave, but actually they've continued to visit us at Antonella's which shows just how strong our relationships became. I'm very sad, it was a fun and beautiful establishment and it was a great place to work."
