Just over two months ago, a devastating fire in Red Hook destroyed eight local businesses. This weekend we were so happy to see that one of those business has reopened its doors. Welcome back to The Bagel Shoppe! Same great shop, same great town, same great food, just in a new location.

The Bagel Shoppe, which has been a staple in the community for many years, was missed by so many. Posts on the shop's Facebook page showed great support from customers and the community after the fire on March 15.

Shortly after the tragedy, the shop said they wouldn't let their customers down and that they would reopen.

Now after a few months of hard work and determination, the Bagel Shoppe is back in business at their new home, 174 Route 199 in Red Hook. And while we're very happy for the return of the Bagel Shoppe and wish them the best of luck, sadly there are still several business that have not reopened.

Also affected by the fire were Hitchcock & Co., the Local Flower Market florist and the restaurant where the fire started, Rusty’s Farm Fresh Eatery. It does appear that two businesses are still operating at the location, Butler & Sons Floor Covering and Hudson Valley Motorcar.

Here's hoping all the business will eventually find their new homes and be back up in running.
