Police: Port Jervis Teacher Had Inappropriate Relationship With Student

These stories seem to pop up all over the country now a days. And now it's allegedly happened in Port Jervis.

According to the Daily Freeman, 30-year-old Ashley Kaufmann, an art teacher at Port Jervis High School, has been charged with having an inappropriate physical relationship with a 16-year-old student.

The arrest comes following a complaint that she had a relationship with a male student.

State Police in Middletown arrested Kaufmann and charged her with forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors. She was released with tickets to appear in Deerpark Town Court.
