On Friday, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from Wappinger arrested 58-year-old Floyd A. Harris of Freeport for second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a class D felony.

Last Friday, State Police were sent to the Bank of America located on Route 9 in Wappinger Falls for a fraud complaint. An investigation revealed that Harris attempted to cash a $1,600 counterfeit check at the bank, police say. Harris was also allegedly in possession of a counterfeit driver’s license under a different name.

Harris was arraigned at the Town of Wappinger Court and was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail with no bail. Harris is scheduled to reappear in court at a later date.
