A local man is accused of driving nearly three times over the legal of intoxication on I-87 in Orange County.

On Friday just after 11 p.m., New York State Police in Tuxedo pulled over a car for alleged multiple traffic violations on the New York State Thruway.

The driver of the vehicle, later identified as 36-year-old Robert W. Harlow of Suffern, was found to be intoxicated at the time of the traffic stop, police say.

Harlow was transported and processed at State Police headquarters in Monroe, where his blood alcohol content was allegedly determined to be 0.19%, over two times the legal limit of intoxication in New York State.

Harlow was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. He also received multiple traffic and vehicle violations, officials say.

Harlow was turned over to a sober third party and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Tuxedo Court on Oct. 27.
