Police have arrested a Kingston man after he allegedly struck an acquaintance's car and then head with a baseball bat.

The Ulster Police Department arrested 45-year-old Tyrone S. McMillian of Kingston following an investigation into a fight. A police investigation revealed that McMillian confronted a person he knew with a baseball bat due to a previous dispute. During the confrontation, McMillian used the bat to damage the person's vehicle. He then struck the person in the arm and head.

Police say after the altercation McMillian fled on foot. He was located by Ulster Police a short distance from where the incident took place. He was taken into custody without incident. The other party involved was not seriously injured and refused medical attention.

Police charged McMillian with assault and criminal mischief, both felonies. He was additionally charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

McMillian was arraigned in Ulster Town Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail. He is due back at Ulster Town Court on Jan. 27.
