A 20-year-old man was arrested after Hudson Valley police say he caused over $3,000 in damage.

We're not sure if this was Nicholas Carbone's first experience getting into hot water over donuts, but the Howard Beach man is now in a whole heap of trouble after he was spotted by a Callicoon officials in his Ford Explorer ripping up a soccer field in a town park. After Carbone went round and round and round again, Mid Hudson News reports that it was the Town Highway Supervisor who detained the donut making suspect while Town Supervisor Tom Bose notified police.

Now, some may argue that there's not a whole lot to do in Callicoon.  But that certainly shouldn't be an excuse to rip up the town soccer fields. Police say that when Carbone decided it was time to make the donuts, he was breaking the law.

Carbone was charged with felony criminal mischief and (because what goes better with donuts than pot) unlawful possession of marijuana. Sullivan County Sheriffs arrested Carbone and placed him in County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail. According to police, the damage to the soccer field exceeds $3,000. That's certainly a whole lot of donuts.
