Two Sullivan County men were arrested Friday after a search at a Bethel home yielded heroin, seven pounds of marijuana and about $15,000 in cash.

A joint investigation by New York State Police (NYSP) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) revealed heroin was being sold from a home on Gaynor Road, according to a press release from the NYSP.

Florencio Torres, 40, of Bethel was charged with three felony drug possession charges and a misdemeanor charge of criminally using drug paraphernalia. Joseph Steuhmer, 45, of Monticello faces a misdemeanor drug possession charge and an unlawful possession of marijuana violation.

Torres was previously arrested in May of 2016 on drug charges and was free on bail at the time of Friday's arrest. He was remanded to Sullivan County Jail with no bail set.

Steuhmer was remanded to Sullivan County Jail with bail set at $7,500.

NYSP and the FBI were assisted by the Sullivan County District Attorney's Office, the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, the Village of Liberty Police Department and the Village of Monticello Police Department
