In Ulster County Court a man with a number of DWI convictions was jailed for driving without a license.

61-year-old Allen Erhard was sentenced to nine months in the Ulster County Jail for his conviction to a February 18th, 2014 felony charge for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree, and nine months in jail for a March 26th, 2015 conviction of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. In the second conviction, Erhard was driving while impaired after his license had been revoked for DWI.

The District Attorney’s Office and the Ulster County Probation Department recommended that Erhard be sentenced to state prison based upon his extensive criminal history.

According to the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office, in addition to the 2014 and 2015 convictions, Erhard has a number of out of county DWI convictions. In 2010, he was sentenced to state prison after a felony DWI. He received probation sentences for felony DWIs in 2004 and 1996. Erhard also has a misdemeanor DWI conviction where he received probation, a misdemeanor DWI for which he was given a conditional discharge and three other alcohol related offenses that were reduced or plea bargained.
