Leave it to Marilyn Manson to have one of the final words in this ugly election season. Today, he previewed his upcoming record, SAY10, with a video in which he appears to suggest beheading Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

In the 76-second clip, which is embedded above, Manson flips through, then tears pages out of a Bible as he whispers foreboding words about God and the devil. At the one-minute mark, shortly after you realize that his hands are bloodied, a series of ultra-quick edits are made, and the headless body of a man in a suit and tie on the floor is revealed. Slowing down those edits shows Manson, at one point, holding the head, and its remains resemble Trump. It closes with Manson repeatedly screaming, "You say 'God,' I say 'Satan.'"

“As an artist my duty is to ask the questions," he told the Daily Beast, where it premiered. "The viewer must answer them.” He added, “Right now we’re in such a state of confusion when it comes to religion, politics, sexuality, and how they all tie together, and it’s being turned into a circus and a sideshow—and that’s something that I’ve been described as a ringleader of. It seems like a time for me as an artist, and as an American artist, to make something that causes a new set of questions to arise that aren’t simply statements.”

Manson will not be voting in this election, saying, “I don’t think that, as an artist, I can make as much of a difference voting as I can the commentaries I make in music on my next record, SAY10.”

It's a gruesome video, which is why we've given it the NSFW tag in the headlines, so watch it at your own risk. It was directed by Tyler Shields, a photographer best known for using violent imagery. SAY10 is expected to be released Feb. 14, 2017.
