Former Marist Red Fox Terrence Fede became the first player from the school ever drafted by an NFL team. Fede, a Defensive End, was drafted Saturday in the 7th round, 234 pick overall, by Miami.

It means the world to me. I've been playing football since I was nine years old, and have been dreaming about getting my name called.. Then I thought about Marist. We made history all year with the records that we broke. Being the first player to be drafted capped off our championship season.

Fede graduated from Nyack High School in 2009. He played eight games as freshmen in the fall of 2009, before sitting out the 2010 season. He would return in 2011, making the All-Pioneer Football League second team. In 2012, he would be named 1st team all conference defense, and ultimately was named the All-Pioneer Defensive Player of the Year in 2013. He lead the team with 13. sacks his senior year.

He will join former Marist teammate, wide receiver Mike Rios...who signed a free agent deal with Miami on April 2nd, after going undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft.
