Metro North wants to remind people that if you're taking the train on St. Patrick's Day you should leave the drinks at home. The alcohol ban is in effect all day Friday and runs through Saturday at 5 a.m.

Any alcoholic beverages found by authorities will be confiscated, and no you can't have it back when you get off the train.

For those heading down to the parade, stop and see Brandi at Mahoney's from 6-10 before you go. She'll be giving away tickets to see Incubus and Jimmy Eat World at Bethel Woods. The parade gets going at 11 a.m. and will wrap up around 5pm at the American Irish Historical Society on East 80th Street.

Due to all the extra people heading to NYC, there will be an additional train departing Poughkeepsie at 7:50 which will stop at New Hamburg at 8:02 and Beacon at 8:10 before going express directly to the Harlem 125th Street stop and onto Grand Central.
