The New York Mets have finalized a deal that will see their AAA level team playing in Syracuse through 2025. Governor Cuomo announced the deal recently, meaning the Syracuse Chiefs will remain a staple in the community for years to come.

According to Cuomo, 'This partnership will help attract new and old fans alike, and support economic growth in the Syracuse community for years to come.'

The Chiefs will continue to play in the NBT Band Stadium in town. The Mets had previously had their AAA square out in Vegas. Smart move bringing the franchise closer in case you have to call someone up last minute.

Met's Cheif Operating Officer Jeff Wilpon had this to say:

The Mets are excited for the potential opportunity to be part of Triple-A baseball in Central New York ...We look forward to the opportunity to work with the staff to continue to bring affordable, family entertainment to baseball fans in Syracuse."
