New York will bring in the the New Year by offering workers some more money, with the increase of minimum wage on Dec. 31st.

The minimum wage will increase from $8.00 an hour to $8.75 an hour. This is the second in a series of increases which started Dec. 31, 2013, when it was initially raised to $8.

The next increase will occur on Dec. 31, 2015, when it will be raised to $9.00 an hour.

Any increase will help out minimum wage workers. To review the minimum wage laws and regulations, you can visit labor.ny.gov.

Do you feel that this is a fair increase? Or do you feel that it will still be difficult for minimum wage workers to make ends meet?
