Morello’s Top Weekend Movie 12/20

This week is a bit different, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues came out on the Wednesday throwing off the prediction a bit. Who does Ron Burgundy think he is? Because of this, the weekend numbers for that movie won't be as high because people will have seen it during the week.

Other new movies that are actually out today include Walking with Dinosaurs and The Past. As much as I lived me some dinos as a kid I don't think that one will be the top movie, even though I kind of want it to be, for the giggles. The only one that could be a contender would be Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. The hype for this movie was so huge with Ron Burgundy popping up around all over the country doing newscasts and all those ridiculous commercials he appeared in that I can only expect it to do well. However, I have been hearing reviews that were only 'meh' because people felt it was too similar to the original movie. No matter if it's good or bad I think it will still do well. But let's not forget about The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

The new Hobbit movie made over $70 million this past weekend and it's still going strong. I'm going to have to give it to The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug once again. Anchorman will land just short at number two. That is my official prediction.
