Friday! Valentine's Day! Snow! New Movies!

All of those things describe today and I'm excited about 2 and a half of those things. Friday of course, new movies and half of Valentines day because I'm hosting that sweet WRRV Anti-Valentines day party down in Slate Hill tonight at Catlin Gardens from 9-11 (I better see you there!)

This week threw me off, the new RoboCop movie came out on Wednesday which always messes up the weekend numbers. I didn't think it would be on top anyway, but I've been wrong before. Joel Kinnaman stars as the new sleeker-looking RoboCop. It's basically a shoot-em-up movie. Also, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson, Abbie Cornish and Jay Baruchel star in the movie. So, it's not a bad cast but I don't think it's enough to top the charts.

Today, however, the new Kevin Hart movie About Last Night and Winter's Tale with Colin Farrell are in release. I half want to say About Last Night will be on top because that's the band playing tonight at the WRRV Anti-Valentines Day party. But, Kevin Hart has recently been in a top grossing movie a few weeks back for a few weeks.  So I'll say no to that one. As far as Winter's Tale goes, I didn't even know it was a thing before today so I'll say no on that too.

The movie that I'm going with is last weeks number one, that I didn't choose, The Lego Movie. I don't think I really need to explain that movie. It's a star studded cast of voices paired with CGI Lego characters including all the superheroes...I knew I wanted to see that movie last week. That's it folks, my official pick this weekend is last weekend's winner, The Lego Movie. Check out the trailer below.
