The National Parks Department is celebrating its 100th Birthday in 2016 and to mark the occasion, they are making 16 days this year, free admission days, where National Parks that usually charge an admission fee will not. Also included in the list below was Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday on January 18.

Here are the remaining free admission dates for 2016:

  • April 16 through 24: National Park Week
  • August 25 through 28: National Park Service Birthday
  • September 24: National Public Lands Day
  • November 11: Veterans Day

Nationwide there are over 400 National Parks, according to their website:

The fee waiver includes entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees. Other fees such as reservation, camping, tours, concession and fees collected by third parties are not included unless stated otherwise.

 

Just a note, if you are a student in the 4th grade, you are eligible for a annual free pass through the Every Kid in a Park program.
