Did you think that you needed to wait until 3/14/17 to celebrate Pi(e) Day? Think again. I guess since so many people love things like cake, chocolate, cookies, pie, that you can have more than one day per year to honor (and appreciate) said item.

December 1, 2016 is one of those said days. National Pie Day. Most people will celebrate the day by having a piece of pie. Hopefully, it is not one that has been sitting in the fridge from Thanksgiving. Choose your pie wisely.

Where in the Hudson Valley would you go to find a piece of pie? Just a piece, I am not talking about going all in on a 7 or 8 inch pie. Just a slice. Ok, maybe a slice and a half. Maybe you can find a friend, each one of you get a different type of pie and share. Then you will have had two different types of pie on National Pie Day.

So where do you go? The diner? Adams Fairacre Farms? I have seen single pieces of pie there on occasion. The Apple Pie Bakery at the Culinary Institute of America? They have the word 'Pie' in their name, they are a solid choice to visit on Pie Day. Maybe you know a sweet grandma who is just jonesing to make a pie for someone? Seek her out if you do.

Then the next question, "What kind of pie will you eat?" Tough decision. But then again, we have all day to celebrate. How are you going to mark the day?
