This week Netflix sent out a reminder to subscribers to let them know that not only are prices going up for those subscribers who have been grandfathered in at the $7.99 a month price, but your options as to how you get your Netflix will be changing too.

If you have subscribed to the streaming service in the last year you have been paying $8.99, that price, even for those grandfathered, will be going up to $9.99 this year.

it will release a substantial number of those subscribers from their grandfather clause. That means they’ll have a $2 increase in their subscription if they want to keep the standard service, or otherwise sign up for the lower-tiered $7.99 service that streams video in standard definition on one screen.

The company didn’t specify a date, but said it will happen through the second and third quarters. Another big change is how you can watch or stream your content, if you decide to go with the $7.99 a month option, you will only be able to stream content on one screen at a time, for those who share their log in info with family, this would affect that as only one screen would be viewable per account. Another change that Netflix is attempting to implement, is affecting people who use proxies and VPNs to watch country restricted content. (Items are restricted for reasons from country to country based on license agreements).

Is it worth paying the $9.99 a month for Netflix? Is the product that they offer that much different from Hulu, Amazon Prime Video or Sling TV? Or are they just the best known?

Will you be making a change in how you watch based on the price? Or are you "Netflix Forever"?
