Love your e-cigs? Here is something that you will need to keep in mind the next time you are traveling via airplane. You are no longer going to be allowed to pack your e-cigs in your checked baggage.

The US Department of Transportation made the announcement on Wednesday May 18, 2016 that they are banning both crew members and passengers from having electronic cigarettes in their checked baggage or from charging them or using them on board the plane.

The reason? The USTD sites a number of recent incidents where the e-cigs caught on fire. Passengers and crew will still be able to carry them on board the flight, however they will not be able to vape nor will they be able to charge the device while on the plane.

Do you think that this is a safety precaution? Or going overboard?
