The City of Poughkeepsie's third brewery is scheduled to open this summer.

Craft beer fans in the Queen City are anxiously awaiting the opening of a new brewery within the city limits. Poughkeepsie already boasts two great breweries. Mill House Brewing company opened their doors in 2013 and have quickly become one of the most popular breweries and restaurants in Dutchess County. A year later Blue Collar Brewery opened on Cottage Street adding another great beer destination to the city.

Four years later the newest brewery in the City of Poughkeepsie is now scheduled to open. King's Court Brewing Company is currently putting the finishing touches on their new craft brewery at 40 Cannon Street.

This is some well needed good news for beer drinkers who are already mourning the loss of North River Hops and Brewing in Wappingers Falls, who announced on Wednesday that they were closing their doors for good.

Nestled inside the impressive new luxury apartment and commercial building, King's Court is named after the 1915 hotel that once sat at the same location. The brewery will have 10 rotating taps of craft beers available at all times and a food menu consisting of small plates. Visitors will sit alongside new brewhouse tanks that were recently installed at the site and enjoy beers brewed by an award-winning brewer who has moved to Poughkeepsie from the Bay Area.

According to their website and Facebook page, construction on the brewery is almost complete and King's Court Brewing Company will be opening very soon.

Are you excited about the prospect of having another brewery open in the City of Poughkeepsie? Do you plan to give them a visit?
