The next host of 'The Daily Show' has been announced, Trevor Noah. Wait...who? Exactly! The New York Times broke the news yesterday that the 31 year-old comedian from South Africa will take the reins from founding host Jon Stewart. Noah just joined the Daily Show team in December 2014 and since has only appeared a few times. This is leaving many fans in shock. On location in Dubai Noah tells the NY Times that he's been given a great opportunity, as well as a significant challenge.

“You don’t believe it for the first few hours,” Mr. Noah said of learning about his new job. “You need a stiff drink, and then unfortunately you’re in a place where you can’t really get alcohol.”

In a statement Jon Stewart noted his excitement for the decision.

“I’m thrilled for the show and for Trevor,” Mr. Stewart said in a statement. “He’s a tremendous comic and talent that we’ve loved working with.” Mr. Stewart added that he “may rejoin as a correspondent just to be a part of it!!!”

There is no official date set for Stewarts exit from the Comedy Central sensation. Regardless when it's time for Noah to succeed the 16 year host millions of eyes will be watching and waiting to see what this young gun can do!
