Ground is expected to be broken in the very near future on the site of the newest Hudson Valley.

One of the last remaining available lots of commercial land along the Union Avenue strip in the Town of Newburgh is going to be redeveloped.

An old truck depot near the Newburgh Mall is being destroyed and the three-acre parcel will soon host a new Mavis Tire retail store and a Buffalo Wild Wings Restaurant.

Realtor Richard Lease who brokered the deal says all town approvals have been granted for the construction to begin and there are potential plans to also build a medical facility in the future.

“It is a good indication that the Town of Newburgh is very cooperative in getting maximum density out of commercial property,” Lease said.

“If the town had a main street, this is our main street,” Town Supervisor Gilbert Piaquadio noted. Town Councilman Scott Manley said the project is “great for the community and great for the town.”

Buffallo Wild Wings will be built and run by the Banta Family, the family that owns Banta’s Steak and Stein in New Windsor. The family also operates Wild Wings in the Town of Wallkill, Wappingers Falls, and Oneonta.

The truck depot is scheduled to come down within the next few days with construction on the sites following.
