Nobody likes paying tolls, but, y'know, you kind of have to. You need your roads and bridges maintained, after all. And, of course, if you don't pay, the Man will undoubtedly find you.

Like this guy from New Jersey, Oscar Sanchez, who was pulled over for not having a front license plate. And then a whole lot more came down the pipeline.

[Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesman Joe] Pentangelo says the officer discovered Sanchez had an expired driver's license and more than 200 counts of missed EZ Pass toll payments amounting to about $12,000.

With all the talk about the new changes to the Tappan Zee Bridge (like the cashless tolls feature that will allow them to charge you based on your license plate if you don't have E-ZPass), this issue should theoretically not be coming up anymore--at least on one local bridge.

Like everything else, this reminds me of an episode of Seinfeld, in this case the episode featuring Newman as a parking ticket scofflaw:
