It's official! We're out of ideas!

Well, maybe not. I hold out hope that people see the advances in cinematography, story-telling and special effects and think that they can make a great series and make it even better.

Spiderman, Superman, Twin Peaks, The Odd Couple, Battlestar Galactica....even a TV reboot of 12 Monkeys currently running on SyFy. *Editorial note: For what it's worth, I caught the first episode of 12 Monkeys last week and thought it was awesome. Legitimately. The movie kinda seemed like a really bad acid trip at times, and the show had some serious drama and REALLY hit home with building suspense. I'm looking forward to see it for the full season.*

HOWEVER! There are a few really treasured series that really surprise me when I hear they might be kicking over again, and The X-Files is one of them. Deadline reported a few days ago that Fox has confirmed they're in logistical talks to find out if stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson would be available, along with show creator Chris Carter.

There are some seasons/episodes of X-Files that have stuck with me to this day. The one with the Amish aliens who are resurrected in a weird slimy complex under a cornfield? Yow.  I'm kinda on the fence about this. I REALLY don't want a redo of past episodes. If they're going to kick this thing into action again, I'd want to see new ideas, and an even crazier/older/hyper paranoid Mulder launching himself into finding alien code written into the internet.

I'm not the biggest idea of a perpetual churn of regurgitated ideas, but if The Dark Knight and 12 Monkeys can be well done and well received, it gives me hope for a kickass new chapter in X-Files.
