A Newburgh Man has been charged in a 33 felony count including kidnapping four women, rape, and sex trafficking

Theodore Edwards, 49, of Newburgh, was arraigned in Orange County Court on an Indictment charging him of 1st-degre kidnapping, 4 counts of 1st-degree rape, 3 counts of criminal sexual act, 12 counts of sex trafficking, 5 counts of 2nd-degree promoting prostitution, 4 counts of 1st-degree coercion, 2 counts of 2nd-degre kidnapping, 1st-degree sexual abuse, 1st-degre stalking, 3rd-degree assault, and 2nd-degree unlawful imprisonment.

According to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, between August 1, 2015 and March 17, 2016, Edwards allegedly kidnapped or unlawfully imprisoned four different women at 222 Broadway in the City of Newburgh.

The woman were assaulted, physically abused, and forced to perform sex acts on Edwards, officials say.

Edwards also allegedly posted ads for others to have sex with the three of the victims on the internet.

Edwards remains at Orange County Jail. Bail was sent at $1 million cash or $7 million bond. He is due back in court on May 12.
