For the record, this doesn't really bother me. As a Mets fan, I have far bigger things on my mind than an almost 30 year old minor leaguer hitting the instructional league.

HOWEVER, whether Tim or the Mets or one of his advisors came up with this idea to make some promotional dough, SOMEONE needs a raise.

Yesterday, due to a special deal between Tebow and the MLB jersey provider, the Mets started selling Tebow jerseys, and promptly had one of the most popular items in all of MLB.

Aside from selling boatloads of merchandise, he also hit a home run on his second day in camp. I really don't know if anything will come of this, but if it doesn't work out, no harm done. If Tebow can actually turn into something, the Mets will have a prospect or player that can help them in the bigs or as a trade chip in the future.

I get that it's kind of a gimmick/circus, but I don't see much downside.
