The forecast of a Nor'easter hitting the Hudson Valley is looming large over all the Mother's Day activities planned this weekend.

It's starting to look like Mother's Day could be a very wet one and the weather could even cause some flooding and power outages. We have had a cooler than normal week, but next week temps are supposed to spike up into the 80's. This shift in temperatures is going to cause some severe weather this weekend.

According to Weather.com the rain will hit pretty hard on Saturday and carry through into Mother's Day. Of course things could shift and Sunday may not be a total loss, but expect lots of precipitation.

A widespread area of 1 to 3 inches of rain is expected from the mid-Atlantic into New England, with locally higher amounts possible, especially toward the coast. Heavy rainfall over a short period of time will also bring the potential for urban and poor-drainage flooding.
