We see them on the road all the time. But we don't always consider what could happen if one of those huge oil tankers got in an accident. That's exactly what did happen this morning on a Camden County, NJ highway this morning.

NBC News reports the truck was carrying nearly 9,000 gallons of fuel when it over turned on an on-ramp outside of Philadelphia. The truck hit a guard rail and the impact ruptured the truck's gas tank which then ignited.

Homes in the area were evacuated as a precaution, NBC adds. The fuel worked it's way down the on-ramp and came very close to people's backyards. Firefighters initially did not fight the blaze as there was concern the fuel would make it's way to storm drains and potentially impact the local water supply. A hazmat crew was called in to use a special foam to smother the flames.

The driver of the burning truck was rescued by authorities, thankfully no injuries have been reported. Check out the video below for a glimpse at the inferno.
