A man wanted by Orange County Sheriffs for Manslaughter and Bail Jumping was caught in Virginia. 

Benjamin Carrera, 46, was arrested at his home in Charlottesville, Virginia. Mr. Carrera was wanted by the Orange County Sheriff's Office on Felony indictment charges of Manslaughter and Bail Jumping.

The warrants are in connection with a 1999 incident in the city of Newburgh. It is alleged that Carrera was operating his vehicle while intoxicated by alcohol, causing an accident that killed Felix Santiago.

At that time, Carrera was arrested and released on $20,000 bail and never returned to court.

In 2015, leads were developed that Carrera had changed his name to Burista Ramos and moved to western Virginia. Mr. Carrera had been arrested several times in Virginia under his assumed name for alcohol, fraud and public order offenses.

Following a very lengthy and exhausting investigation, members of the U.S. Marshal's NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force, The Orange County Sheriff's Office and Deputy Marshal's from the Western District of Virginia, Mr. Carrera was arrested without incident.

He is currently in Orange County Jail awaiting further court proceedings.
