A local overnight drug raid has resulted in two arrests and multiple charges for the suspects.

The Register Star reports Mark Simon and Deanna Hughes were both taken into custody at their apartment in Hudson. The raid was conducted at 3:35 a.m. in an attempt to reduce the effect on surrounding neighbors and a nearby school. Authorities allegedly discovered more than 30 grams of uncut heroin in a fake bottle of bleach in the bathroom. The street value of the heroin is estimated to be approximately $5,000.

The investigation was led by Hudson Police with help from the DEA, while the warrent was served by the Columbia Greene Shared Services Response Team.

Hudson has been getting a lot of press lately, first as one of America's coolest small towns then as one of the most redneck cities in New York.
