Parts of Route 9 Closed Due to Accident

It's believed that the same car was involved in two accidents, minutes apart in Poughkeepsie.

The Poughkeepsie Fire Department has one lane closed on the southbound side of Route 9 in the vicinity of the Mid-Hudson Bridge due to a one car accident at the Laurel Street off ramp.

The operator of the vehicle is entrapped. Firefighters and medics from Mobile Life Support Services are attempting to free the driver who is said to have caused an accident a few minutes prior to this one. The first accident happened near Marist College.

The operator may have suffered from a medical condition prior to the collisions.
