The first significant snowfall of 2019 is going to greatly affect all of the Hudson Valley. Here's everything you need to know.

Snow should start falling in the local area from west to east after 4 p.m. Snow will fall heaviest, one to three inches of snow per hour, from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., according to Hudson Valley Weather. After 2 a.m. Sunday, the snow should mix with sleet and freezing rain from I-84 on south. The wintery mix will taper off around 8 a.m. to noon Sunday from west to east.

As of this writing, Hudson Valley Weather is predicting 10 to 20 inches of snow for the upper Hudson Valley and Catskills, 7 to 14 inches of snow mixed with some sleet for the mid-Hudson Valley and 3 to 8 inches of snow for the lower parts of the Hudson Valley.

Snow covered roads mixed with ice will likely lead to "very treacherous travel," Hudson Valley Weather warns. Strong wind gusts Sunday afternoon may lead to a ground blizzard.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Watch for all of the Hudson Valley.

The National Weather Service is predicting 6-10 inches of snow for Orange and Putnam counties, 6-12 inches for Ulster and Dutchess counties, 9 to 15 inches for Sullivan County and 12-20 inches of snow for the eastern Catskills and northern and central Taconics.
