Paving work will be happening in the City of Poughkeepsie during the month of August. The city has issued a notice about some road closures that will affect residents. The closure comes as they prep these particular streets for the paving project.

Starting Monday, July 30, 2018 the following streets will be closed in the City of Poughkeepsie between the hours of 6am and 5pm.

North Cherry Street
South White Street
Reservoir Square

The Department of Public Works Street Department will be milling all of these streets. That’s what needs to be done to prepare these streets for paving. There was no specific information on when the paving process will happen on these streets.

Motorists may want to be avoid these streets once they are reopened before the paving process is finished. The milling, will most likely make the road uneven and may put undue wear and tear on your vehicle.

Residents with specific questions regarding the project can contact the City of Poughkeepsie Department of Public Works Street Department by calling (845) 451-4111.
